The goal of the YMCA Gymnastics Program is to deliver the best instruction on state-of-the-art equipment while
helping your child build self confidence and enjoy physical activity. Our newly revised program now provides
USA Gymnastics recommendations for all skill progressions while incorporating the YMCA of the USA core values
of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and honesty. Gymnastics develops and improves
coordination, strength, flexibility, and gross/fine motor skills. The movement patterns and body control learned
in gymnastics form the basis for all sport skills, making gymnastics participation especially valuable in early
childhood.
We are very excited to bring to you our new offerings, including an extended class schedule, new trampoline,
acro-sport, and boys classes, and a completely new cheer program for all ages. Whether you desire an instructional
or competitive experience--we have the class for you! Our program is under the direct supervision of USA Gymnastics
safety certified and rated judging officials; our instructors are knowledgeable and caring. We hold the highest
standards in training and equipment.
We ask that you carefully read our class descriptions as class names and skill level requirements
have changed from previous years!

Acrobatic Gymnastics, or Acro Sport, is a fascinating sport that is rapidly gaining in popularity.
Male and/or female participants compete in pairs or groups by performing routines that incorporate
tumbling, dance, stunting, strength, and balancing skills. This sport is a great choice for the
athlete who likes gymnastics but whose schedule doesn’t permit attendance at the number of practices
required to compete on all apparatus, or who just prefers Floor Exercise.
(Ages 5 and up)
If you like gymnastics or are ready to try something different, this completely new class is for you.
Participants will focus on floor skills and acrobatic stunting and balancing.
This level is for the student with little to no previous gymnastics or acrobatic experience.
